The Wildness Within Scott Schuldt February 3 - March 24 Reception:
February 3, 6-9pm
Anchor Access brings to Anchor Art Space, Northwest
artist, Scott Schuldt. “The Wildness Within” includes; video, drawing, beadwork, maps, photography, assemblage,
writing and carving. This multi-disciplinary installation ties together Schuldt’s work from Smoke Farm as well
as his “View from the Canoe Project” both visually and thematically. “The View from
the Canoe Project” is an artistic documentation of the waterways in and around Seattle, which began in 2008. While
canoeing through local waters, Schuldt realized his unique opportunity to witness seasonal change and began recording his
observations. He did this knowing that even anecdotal records can have great value to researchers and later historians.
This is an open-ended and ongoing project, only limited in scope by where Schuldt’s canoe takes him. Special Events: A Beading Bee on February
11th, 1-4 pm ($30 materials included, RSVP required) Mapping on March 3rd, 1-4 pm ($30 materials included, RSVP required) Schuldt will also lead an artist talk March 17th from 1-2pm at
Anchor Art Space.
